As reported earlier, WeGP supports "America You Kill Me", a feature length documentary about gay rights warrior -- and Grosse Pointe South Alumnus -- Jeffrey Montgomery. This film also intends to raise awareness about other leaders who, like Montgomery, made sacrifices and fought hard to create a better world than the one they found.
Hosted by "America You Kill Me", Jamm'in for Jeffrey will be a great night of music and fundraising for finishing funds for the film. Headlining will be famed blues man and Jeffrey's brother James Montgomery and Crispin Cioe, sax great and leader of the NYC based "Uptown Horns". Joining them will be a stellar line up of Detroit guest musicians including Tino Gross, Johnny Bee, Greg Calder, Chuck Miller, Ray Craig, Mortal Soul and more!

After a period redirected toward local election campaigning, the WeGP Environmental Task Force is focused back on issues.[Elections matter: Aimee Fluitt was elected to the Grosse Pointe Park City Council with a “green initiatives” emphasis and at the first meeting of the new Council, she was named the chair of the Green/Sustainability Committee!]
As members of the Task Force are all engaged in so many directions, they are re-engineering a bit toward a “low meeting” approach which relies on “lead persons” tracking issues using Facebook, the WeGP newsletter and a list serve for information, public events, action requests, etc. Interested in being on the dedicated list serve? Got an issue you can take the lead on? Email Mary below. These are the issues they are currently tracking, along with the lead contact:
