…..And we all win with the renewal of the School Millage proposal and Sinking Fund which combined comprise a critical 25% of the Grosse Pointe School District’s budget.

Grosse Pointe City: Monday, November 18 at 7:00pm at the Neighborhood Club
Grosse Pointe Park: Monday, November 18 at 7:00pm at the GPP City Hall Court Room
Grosse Pointe Shores: Tuesday, November 19 at 7:00pm at the Municipal Complex, 795 Lake Shore Rd, Council Chambers
Grosse Pointe Farms and Grosse Pointe Woods officials were sworn in at their respective City Council meetings on November 11.
In all cases you are encouraged to participate in local government by attending regularly scheduled City Council meetings (schedules can be accessed at websites listed at the end of this newsletter), and for Grosse Pointe Park residents, newly instituted community feedback meetings (see below).
Before the Swearing In.......
The City of Grosse Pointe Park Administration and Council is holding a meeting for residents to discuss concerns and provide input about the city. The meeting on November 18, 4:00-5:15pm will be held at Atwater in the Park on Kercheval at Lakepointe.
Future meetings are planned; be sure to provide feedback as to your desired dates and times in-person or by phone, Facebook, or Resident Feedback form. All modes of contact can be found on the Home Page at http://www.grossepointepark.org/
Another Civic Engagement Opportunity
The City of Grosse Pointe Farms has announced an unprecedented partnership between the cities of Detroit, Grosse Pointe, and Grosse Pointe Farms; the Mack Avenue Corridor Improvement Plan project. The project seeks to develop a commercial corridor plan for Mack Avenue for the section between Cadieux Road and Moross Road.
The Public Kickoff Workshop will be held on Tuesday, November 19 at 7:00pm (6:30 for refreshments), St. Philomena’s Catholic Parish, 4281 Marseilles Street, Detroit, MI 48224.
This public meeting is for all interested parties, but particularly the businesses, organizations and residents on or near Mack Avenue between Cadieux and Moross Roads. Featured Speaker: Dennis Archer, former Mayor of Detroit and Michigan Supreme Court Justice, will kick off this landmark project with a keynote address.
